Working Group 2:
Capacity development and professionalisation

The need for specific expertise in humanitarian WASH interventions is greater than ever. Because of the increasing complexity of crisis, the range of skills needed to develop effective, sustainable interventions in line with environmental health requires a range of skills that is growing every day. It is crucial to ensure that the right skills are in the right place at the right time, at all times. This objective requires a better and easier access to existent trainings and courses (initiative 2.1), the existence of a common competency framework (initiative 2.2) but also the set-up of localized educational programs capable to empower large range of humanitarian professionals (initiative 2.3).
